Hi guys!
OMG I’m so sorry for not updating for so long! Life gets in the way and I had so much to do and think that I totally forgot this blog existed. I promise that now I will try to update more.
This 2023 started amazingly well reading-wise. I already read nine books and they all were pretty good. I believe I found new favourites. If you follow my bookstagram you already know this so it’s more a refresher than anything else. Let’s get into it for more details? Let’s go!
I started the year reading How to Kill Your Family by Bella Mackie. It was a good reading, but not my favourite though. It was really interesting to see how her plans worked out and how she managed to do everything she wanted.
Next, I read a book that was on my TBR for some months called The Marriage Clock by Zara Raheem. It was really good to read about the pressure Indian girls have because of marriage and how their culture is strong in the American environment. Of course, it’s fiction, but still, it’s a different culture that exists and we need to respect that.
My third reading so far was a book by one of my favourite authors. It was The Girl From Nowhere by Dorothy Koomson. It was amazing. I’m always up to reading anything she writes. I love her books so much. I believe she can write anything and it’s guaranteed to be amazing. This was my first five stars of the year!
I was offered Punk 57 by Penelope Douglas and it was so good! Like really good! It was ten out of five stars! It was that good! I’m sure I will reread this book, every year from now forward!
I read the first book from the Chronicles of Narnia and I can’t understand how they considered it a children’s book. It was so boring and I hated the book. However, I will keep reading the series because I believe it will get better.
I read the book about Princess Diana, a book by Julie Heiland. It was amazing. I adore the British Royal Family and I love Lady Di and this book only helped me love her more. I recommend this book to everyone, even if you don’t like the Royal Family.
Most of my TBR books are in English, a language that even though I’m comfortable with it, still takes me some time when reading a book in that language. This Song Will Save Your Life was an exception though. I read more than half the book in three hours! It never happened to me before and I think that this says a lot about the book. Trigger warnings: suicide attempt, self-harm, bullying. If any of these themes is sensible for you, do not read the book. This book was on my TBR since august 2019 and I swear I don’t understand why I didn’t read this before.
The biggest book I read until now was Imaginary friend by Stephen Chbosky. It was a book of 862 pages and it was addicting. It is not my genre of book, but it was so good guys! It was amazingly well written and I never thought that the same author of the Perks of the Wallflower could write such a good horror book. Totally recommend it!
The last book I read was Beach Read by Emily Henry. It was so funny and I really loved the two books by this author that I read. It talks about books and authors and it was so good to read a book about books. Those are always my favourites.
Now I’m reading Yes No Maybe So by Becky Albertalli and Aisha Saeed and it’s been really good. It talks about politics, religion and racism and I really like it so far.
Alright, guys, I’m going to finish here today. I promise I’ll come back to update you and talk more about books sooner than we all think (I hope eheh)
See you next time!
