Review It Only Happens In The Movies By Holly Bourne

Hi guys!

So I have a gigantic number of ebooks to read and this one was on my TBR pile for a while now. I bought it because it was a great deal and paid like .99 cents for it. It was one of my five-star reading from 2020 (imagine for how long this was on my drafts 🤭)

It only happens in the movies tells us the story of Audrey. Audrey had her heart broken and she needs a plan to escape her familiar problems. So she starts to work at the local cinema and lets Harry, the cliché bad boy, into her heart.

This book was everything I was needing. It was funny, romantic and full of feminism. Audrey is an actress and she does her best to interpret characters with the same principles as her. She has a complicated life at home since her parents are divorced and her mother believes her father only exists to bring them problems. She starts to work at the local cinema to get away from home and get a little money (because money is always good, right?). There she meets Harry, a wannabe movie director who happens to have great ideas, even though it’s all about zombies and zombie movies.

Harry shows her that not all romantic movies are bad and bit by bit, they fall in love. I loved seeing them fall in love fast but not like, in a day, as we read in many books. They were a really cute couple.

I loved the ending! I am not saying a thing because spoilers, but you won’t be seeing it coming! A part of me wasn’t so surprised reading the final chapters because you get to know the characters, but the other part was screaming in frustration. I wanted to read more, but there wasn’t more. It was the last page and I wanted to keep this book to go on and give me another end. I finished it praying there would be another book. A person can only hope, right?

Please read it, it is really good. As I said above, it is a five-star reading so I really recommend it. I don’t know what else to say. Just read it and have fun 😉

See you next time!
