Hi there!
I know, three months without posts, what the hell happened? So I moved back to Portugal and started a new job and I haven’t read a word since then. But now I’m back, full reader and blogger! One of the books I left unread and finished recently was Burn by Maya Banks. Actually, I read the whole trilogy. This is the last in the Breathless series and it’s fantastic, although I gave him three stars. The fact that I stopped reading it for two months may have affected this classification, but I feel like it was true to what I thought about the book.

Burn talks about the last of the three friends this series is about. Ash saw the two best friends fall over heels in love and swears he doesn’t want a girlfriend now and much less to find love. He loves his life as it is, busy with his job and having sex with the girls he wants. But when he sees Josie, painting in the park, his life is going to change forever.
Ash is my favourite. He knows what he wants in every field of his life (if you know what I mean). He knows he wants Josie since the first second he puts eyes on her. The way he does anything to be with her is heartwarming. He is a determined man and a better lover.
But Josie is too busy trying to revenge in the art world. Also, she has already an “owner” and Ash notices it. Josie can escape from the horrible man she sleeps with and falls into the arms of a man she never thought: Ash. Josie knows he won’t be like any other man she had been with before and lets herself into his arms.
Unfortunately, love isn’t just roses and chocolates and there are bad people in Ash world that come to ruin Josie and Ash’s relationship.
This was the most unrealistic romance I read, but again, almost none romance is realistic right? Not the ones I read *coff want to escape reality coff*! This one has violence, sex (of course, Tatiana, it is an erotic romance) and friendship as never seen before. The three friends are more like family and you will love their friendship. They are always there for each other and every time one needs whatever it is, the other two men run to help. This is something I truly loved to read. You can see that when they get angry with each other and even if they are not in speaking terms, they worry anyway and are able to do anything for the others and that is something you don’t read in the books containing friendships and fights. Even if you read a lot okay?
This trilogy is one of my favourites because you can see the three books in one. You see Ash’s messed up family, the love the three men feel for their women and the friendship that forms between the three women. It was so good to read about being a submissive that tells her dominator to do something and him doing, like a child doing chores for candies. I felt so much girl power in a sub/dom book and I loved that feeling while reading it.
I recommend this trilogy only if you are used to read erotic romances because this has a lot of strong language and explicit sex scenes. So if you want to read it, go ahead, but please have some light erotic reading first ok? Don’t want you to come here and beat the crap out of me because you were in shock. Thank you.
Now, speaking in a serious tone (or rather writing in a serious tone), if you think this is an interesting book series go ahead and enjoy it. If you already read it, tell me what you thought, and yes, even if you didn’t like it. I want to know, I’m a curious person.
Meanwhile, you can check reviews of books that are the same genre than this dear. Check my review of Spellbound and, if you like historical romance, I have that too here.
See you next time!
